12 November 2013

On 12 November 2013, Christiane Gerstetter of the Ecologic Institute, the EFFACE coordinator, presented the project during a seminar on environmental crime at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.

The two-day seminar on “Environmental Crime and the World”  brought together researchers, mainly criminologists, and practitioners  from police forces of various EU countries to discuss issues regarding transnational environmental crime.  Presentations were held on topics such as the role of the police in combating transnational environmental crime, illegal waste trafficking and dumping, illegal fishing, or wildlife crime.

The seminar was co-organised by Rob White, a Member of the EFFACE Advisory Board.

Christiane’s  presentation on EFFACE focused on the content and aims of the project which seeks to develop recommendations addressed at the EU for combating environmental crime.
