Lucas Porsch, Senior Fellow

Lucas Porsch is a Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute. As an economist, his work focuses on impact assessments, policy evaluations, and welfare indicators. His main interest is the development of robust indicators of sustainability and the evaluation of the cost efficiency of environmental policy instruments. A native German speaker, Lucas Porsch is also fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French. Lucas Porsch leads Ecologic Institute's cost-benefit analysis and impact assessment work. Currently, he is working an impact analysis for DG Environment under the project Environmental Inspections as Tool for a Better Implementation of EU Environmental Law. Lucas Porsch is also currently developing impact analyses in the area of soil conservation and regarding the costs and benefits of pesticides for the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Protection, Building, and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and for the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA). Additionally, he has developed guidelines and an excel tool for the assessment of the costs and benefits of environmental policy. Lucas Porsch also heads an internal evaluation of the FP7 project Linking Impact Assessment Instruments to Sustainability Expertise (LIAISE), which is developing a unique toolbox for impact assessment.
