On 8 September 2015, EFFACE held a workshop in Den Hague in the Netherlands. The workshop was organized by project partners METRO in cooperation with the Institute for Environmental Security (IES) and hosted by Europol.
The workshop was centred on the question of whether it is feasible and necessary to further harmonise European environmental criminal law - taking into account the current legal framework and particularly Directive 2008/99 on the protection of the environment through criminal law. This workshop report features a summary of the presentations delivered during the workshop and the discussions that followed. The key points of these discussions, in terms of policy recommendations and conclusions, are presented in the last section of this document.
The results were summarised in a report.
